Sarina enjoyed a bohemian upbringing at Toowoon Bay on the NSW Central Coast in a household filled with music, sport and art. With a mother who was an arts and craft teacher, there was a house full of things to paint, sew and cut up, which drove the family crazy.

After blowing up two sewing machines while making her Higher School Certificate major work, she studied at Sydney College of the Arts and, over the next 10 years, experimented with graphic design, sportswear and surfwear design.

Sarina graduated to painting, and soon her ceramics, paintings and graphics were hanging in a host of Sydney homes and several restaurants. She’s held seven major exhibitions and counts Ros Packer, Lady Sonia McMahon and Henry Crawford among her clients. Several major commissions followed, among them paintings and ceramics for Fiji’s Vatulele Island Resort, which included painting the resort’s 50-seater amphibious bus.

Sarina has featured in many magazines and newspapers, including Madison, Beautiful Homes, Belle, House & Garden, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Sunday Telegraph, Home magazine in the Daily Telegraph, and Mythos (Italy).

Sarina’s career became even more varied when she started to license companies to use her designs and imagery on commercial products such as prints, placemats, stationery and ceramics.

When businessman husband Michael added his expertise in 2002, Sarina was encouraged to explore the world of fashion, adding her imagery to bags and clothing using skills learnt from years of surf and sportswear design.

Her new work made an immediate impact. On planes, trains and on the street, people wanted to buy the clothes and bags she wore. Two New York based companies have now developed sleepwear and sportswear ranges under license. These ranges have been designed by Sarina under her fashion brand name - Doily Couture™.

In Australia, she has now designed three successful sleepwear ranges that have been sold exclusively through a leading national ladies fashion chain. The success of these ranges coupled with Sarina’s desire develop clothing that is special and different has seen Sarina develop a manufacturing and marketing association that will enable her to design sleepwear and outerwear that reflects her unique vision.

Sarina’s homewares range has expanded significantly, with several new products in stores, all packaged in her signature blue, with Sarina logo. There are two ranges of funky bags featuring her artwork, a new stationery range and an extensive collection of greeting cards.

Sarina has Licensing Agents that represent her in the US, Canada, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

A confessed health nut, Sarina represented Australia as a surf-lifesaver and is an accomplished long-distance runner, having competed in more than 100 triathlons, and racing the arduous Six Foot Track Marathon four times, winning once and finishing in the first four on each occasion.

Sarina lives in a big, comfy, Australian beach house in Sydney’s Clontarf with her husband Michael, daughters Mieka and Bianca, and a dopey German shepherd, Indie.
